Inktober Challenge 2025

2025 DRAWING CHALLENGE
TOPIC: Draw every day for a month

DESCRIPTION

Each year in october, thousands of artists take on the Inktober challenge, to improve their drawing skills and grow their art community, drawing every day out of a prompt list.

TECHNIQUE

The challenge is traditionally done with ink, but I wanted to practice my coloured pencil skills. Every drawing was done in a tiny sketchbook, with 1 colour per day + white highlights. I was so happy to draw every day, and really felt an improvement by the end of the month!

I did a lot of Instagram content (posts & videos) that you can see on my account @thaissa.art
Here are direct links to the first and last Inktober videos.

Souvent, je rêve

2024 PERSONNAL SCHOOL PROJECT
TOPIC: Write & illustrate a story about my dreams

DESCRIPTION

Souvent, je rêve (literally Often, I dream) is a short story that I both wrote and illustrated. Dreaming has always been a fascinating topic for me: lucid dreams, very WTF dreams, waking up after a dream that felt too real to be one, …

CONCEPT

Il created coloured pencil representations —more or less abstract— of how I feel through the night. The story navigates between lucid dream to nightmare, from awake to asleep ; nothing make sense, in my confused-sleeping-mind, and everything follows a flowing and shapeshifting path.

Qui a tué Arthur Collins ?

2024 DIPLOMA PROJECT
TOPIC: Develop, illustrate and design a game

DESCRIPTION

For my diploma project —the big personal project of the graphic design training— I created my own game, inspired by Clue and roleplay games.

CONCEPT

When I draw for a client, I often adapt my style and the technique I use to fit their identity. But for my game, I wanted something that felt like me! I use my favourite technique, monochromatic colored pencil.
I wanted to show the character’s personalities through the drawings, representing them as if they had been photographed without knowing it.

I explain it more on page Graphic design.

Paradox project

SINCE 2022 PERSONAL PROJECT
Ongoing comic book project: sketches, illustrations, storyboard

DESCRIPTION

Creating stories have always been one of my biggests passions. Since 2022, I’ve been working on a comic book, which is my biggest story project yet.
The character designs have changed over the years as I have developed their universes and my own style.

WHAT IT IS A BOUT

The story is about Sasha, an introverted girl who lives in a small town. She starts investigating the strange things happening around her, which leads her to inexplicable events that all seems linked to her own past… Whithout really wanting to, she ends up teaming up with Ezra, the weird forest boy, and June, the popular nerd, to find out the truth.

La rêveuse

2023 SCHOOL EXERCICE
TOPIC: Write and illustrate poems about dreams

DESCRIPTION

For this illustrated leporello about dreams, I explored the overprinting settings using only 2 colours. As I mentioned in Souvent, je rêve, I have always been fascinated by dreams and love to write & draw about them.

CONCEPT

Whenever I can, I try to remember and analyse my dreams. This was my starting point for the poems: on each page, I chose a theme (e.g. lucid dreams, nightmares, mattress, …) and wrote the texts like an immersion with a narrator telling you how you feel and what is happening to you.

Annie Ernaux:
La Honte

2025 SCHOOL EXERCICE
TOPIC: Create a short comic based on a book

DESCRIPTION

For this five-days project, I worked on the book La Honte, by Annie Ernaux, that tells the story of the authoress.
The book opens on the day her father attempted to murder her mother, an event that leaves her with a sense of guilt that will haunt her for the next two decades.

CONCEPT

To symbolize this “guilt”, I used the abstract shape of an explosion. It originates from her parents' fight, transfers to the knife her father holds, and finally gets stuck in her head for decades. After all these years, she finally transferred it to paper when she wrote down her story.

Various illustrations

SINCE 2021 VARIOUS PERSONAL PROJECTS
TOPIC: Drawings

DESCRIPTION

I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil and have never stopped. These are some of my favourite pieces, with the aim to show the diversity of my work.

TECHNIQUES & STYLE

I like to use many techniques, and discover new ones. Coloured pencils —definitely my favourites and I can use them in many different ways—, classic inking with fineliners, colouring with alcohol pens or directly on the computer, ballpoint pen, and different kinds of paints.
I’d describe my style as semi-realistic, inspired mostly by comics, but for a client, I can adapt: cartoon, very realistic, or super minimalist.

Silk-screen printing

SINCE 2021 VARIOUS PERSONAL PROJECTS
TOPIC: Drawings & prints

DESCRIPTION

At school, I had the opportunity to create silk-screen printing projects: designing, flashing the screen, preparing the ink, and obviously printing.

WHAT I LEARNED

I printed on different kinds of paper, experimented special inks, learned how to do gradients, to use semi-transparent inks and create nice effects, and, last but not least, I also printed on textile (tote bags, t-shirts).
